As we go to the second decade.

We try to be mindful of being too self-serving in the way we use this space.  But I want to take time to mark a very important anniversary for Tyson Foods.  We are currently celebrating the tenth anniversary of the company’s involvement in hunger relief.

We’ve learned a lot along the way, thanks to many who read this blog.  Every day we’re energized.  We’re educated.  And we’re humbled by the work we see as we engage with the tremendous community of dedicated people and groups whose mission is to put themselves out of work by ending hunger.

I’m proud of the way my fellow team members at Tyson have embraced this issue. The way they’ve become involved in their own communities. Take a look through the archives of this blog and you’ll see evidence of that.  I’m proud of the support we get from our senior leaders.

The video above was produced for an internal audience.  So there’s a bit of (well-deserved) cheerleading for the troops.  But it does recap some of the things that have gone on in the last decade.  Having it come from our chairman, John Tyson and our CEO, Donnie Smith emphasizes the the commitment the leadership has to this issue.

We’re looking forward to the next ten years.
