On Saturday, June 24, members of our Northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri teams participated in the 5K @ the LPGA Race benefitting Mercy and were named the fastest office.
Seventeen people, including team members and family members, represented us on the Tyson team. We were one of 20 corporate teams to participate in the race, which began and ended at the Walmart AMP in Rogers, Arkansas. The race is part of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G.
The Fastest Office Award is given to the team with the lowest average time of the top five finishers and at least one of the top finishers must be female.
“This was Tyson Foods first 5K @ the LPGA Corporate Challenge Team and we did a great job,” said Andy Dilatush, senior manager, Sales and Marketing, Ingredients and Animal Nutrition Groups. “Not only did we run to benefit Mercy, but we ran to benefit people in need of good nutrition through our Miles that Matter program.”
Miles that Matter participants that ran earned triple miles for the program, which earns food for the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.
“The team is already talking about next year, where we believe we can win Fastest and Fittest Office (with the most participants to cross the 5K and 1K finish line),” said Andy, who organized our team.
